Share:

On December 15th, 2023, a delegation from the Global Water Partnership Cambodia Committee visited the Right River Irrigation District in Baise City to conduct an inspection and research. The purpose of the visit was to understand the modernization of the irrigation district and discuss how to better advance its modernization. During the research, the delegation delved deeply into the water resource scheduling, informatization, and construction of high-standard farmland in the Right River Irrigation District.

One of the highlights of this inspection was the informatization management of the irrigation district. The delegation visited the Badong River main canal Sulfur Tree River replenishment station and the Right River Irrigation District Informatization Command Center on site, gaining a detailed understanding of the construction and operational management experience of the irrigation district's informatization system. The Right River Irrigation District Informatization System utilizes advanced technological means, achieving scientific scheduling of water resources in the irrigation district, remote control of sluice gates, automatic water level monitoring, and the use of a smart irrigation district app on mobile phones. The application of the informatization system allows for more precise scheduling of water resources, improves water resource utilization efficiency, achieves precise irrigation, and ensures water use safety.

All participants agreed that informatization is an important means to promote the modern development of irrigation districts and an effective way to improve water resource utilization efficiency and protect the water environment. Going forward, all parties will continue to strengthen communication and cooperation to jointly promote the modernization of irrigation districts and contribute to the efficient use of global water resources and sustainable development.
