  • A monologue of an automatic rainfall station

 Where did my data go

Oh no, there are huge data errors, and the data is inaccurate

Oops, the rainfall data has been failing to transmit lately. Is it due to power loss? Is the line disconnected? Is there a SIM card issue? Is the rain gauge blocked? Is the sensor malfunctioning? Or is it a payment issue?

I am worried about our mistakes affecting flood control decision-making and harming the interests of the people. How can we resolve this?

Maintenance Content:

1.Inspection:

1) Check if the rain gauge inlet is clean and free from obstructions.

2) Examine the instrument port for deformation, looseness, and levelness.

3) Inspect and clear the water channel, wipe the rain gauge inlet and collector surface to ensure unobstructed water flow.

4) Check if the rain gauge bubble is centered and if the tipping bucket operates smoothly.

Basic Maintenance

1) Remove rust and repaint support frames and collection platforms.

2) Lubricate screws and shafts in the instrument box.

3) Strengthen the fastening of moving parts.

4) Inspect the sealing and cleanliness of the instrument box.

5) Ensure the integrity and stability of wired connections and cables.

Specialized Maintenance

1) Clean the sediment, dust, leaves, insects, and other foreign objects inside the rain gauge.

2) During cleaning, the telemetry terminal data cable should be disconnected to prevent water from the cleaning process from entering the telemetry terminal.

3) Ensure that the tipping bucket component is clean and smoothly rotates without obstruction. Minimize the impact of excessive clearance, accurately adjust the tilt angle of the tipping bucket component, and ensure the accuracy of the sensor.

4) Check if the tipping bucket has a normal signal output and if the drainage section is unobstructed. When problems occur, timely measures should be taken.

5) Perform a titration test to verify the rainfall volume and check if the output and display are correct.

Troubleshooting:

Address issues such as no rainfall data, erroneous data, or lack of accuracy by checking the integrity of the anemometer, signal output, and the condition of the line. Ensure correct rainfall accuracy settings and level adjustment.

Inspection:

Conduct regular preventive maintenance, including water injection tests, anti-corrosion measures, and cleaning tasks.

  • Video Station

When a video station experiences issues such as inability to display video, lack of control, no video image, or failure to provide real-time monitoring of an area, it is crucial to take preventive measures and perform maintenance tasks to ensure its proper functioning.

Maintenance Content:

1.No Video Image from Cameras:

1) Test the video interface of the video server for any issues.

2) Check the power supply of the cameras.

3) Test the pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) function of the cameras for any malfunctions.

4) Verify the integrity and connectivity of the video cables.

2.Inability to Control Cameras Remotely:

1) Check if other cameras connected to the same video server can be controlled.

2) Verify the proper functioning of the R485 devices connected to the video server.

3) Test the remote control cables for any faults.

4) Check if the cameras have an automatic detection feature.

5) If automatic detection fails, test the functionality of the decoder and ensure the proper connection between the decoder and the PTZ device.

  • Maintenance of Broadcast Warning Station Equipment:

Broadcast warning systems, used for emergency communication, may have low utilization during normal periods. This makes it challenging to promptly detect any malfunctions. However, when unexpected situations arise, the failure of individual devices can severely threaten the safety of people and their property. In such circumstances, where professional personnel may be limited, the following maintenance measures can be helpful.

Maintenance Content:

Check the external device connections, clean dust and obstructions.

Inspect the operation of speakers and warning devices.

Verify the proper functioning of the warning broadcast system.

Conduct inspections of the broadcast stations before and during flood seasons.
